The Edwin O. Smith Panthers will take on the Fitch Falcons at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Edwin O. Smith is coming into the match hot, having won their last six games.
Edwin O. Smith's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They came out on top against Enfield by a score of 3-0. The game was the first time the Panthers have beaten the Eagles on their field since April 3, 2019.

Not much got past Olivia Lipps, who gave up just two hits and racked up eight Ks to keep Enfield off the board. Lipps has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Rachael Morales was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.
Meanwhile, Fitch faced Norwich Free Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Falcons fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 8-7. The Falcons' defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.
Emma Robinson and Kayla Gibson did some serious damage despite the final result: Robinson went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double, while Gibson went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Edwin O. Smith pushed their record up to 10-2 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Fitch, their loss dropped their record down to 8-4.
Monday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Edwin O. Smith hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .386. However, it's not like Fitch struggles in that department as they've averaged .339. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Edwin O. Smith suffered a grim 13-5 defeat to Fitch in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
