After a string of four wins, the Jackson North Side Indians's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell 69-58 to Haywood. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Jackson North Side in their matchups with Haywood: they've now lost six in a row.
Desmond Manley and Tramel Jones certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Manley scored 17 points, while Jones scored 15 points. The contest was Manley's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Lincoln Woods, who scored 8 points.
It was another big night for Lekendrick Phillips, who scored 26 points along with 3 steals for Haywood. Jaybyon Snipe was another key contributor, scoring 20 points.
Jackson North Side has yet to win a game at home this season, leaving them with a 5-2 record. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.8 points per game. As for Haywood, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-3.
Jackson North Side will head out on the road to face off against Liberty Tech Magnet at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Liberty Tech Magnet will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings (they are ranked 302nd, while Jackson North Side is ranked 145th). As for Haywood, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Covington at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
