Having just played yesterday, the Fort Collins Lambkins will get right back to it and host the Legacy Lightning at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Fort Collins is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 66-38, which was the final score in Fort Collins' tilt against Loveland on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Lambkins can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 187th, while the Red Wolves are ranked 37th).

Despite their loss, Fort Collins saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Marcus Burkett, who went 5 of 8 en route to 17 points and three blocks, was perhaps the best of all. The dominant performance gave Burkett a new career-high in blocks. Another player making a difference was Finn Reiser, who posted seven points.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Legacy). They were the clear victor by a 67-42 margin over Skyline on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Lightning have posted since February 6, 2024.
Legacy had a senior duo take command as Matthew Allshouse dropped a triple-double on ten points, ten boards, and ten assists and Trey Johnson went 6 of 11 on his way to 16 points in addition to six rebounds and four blocks. Those ten boards set a new season-high mark for Allshouse. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Puttkamer, who put up nine points.
Legacy has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.3 points per game. As for Fort Collins, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-8.
Fort Collins came up short against Legacy in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 72-59. Will Fort Collins have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
