The Pueblo West Cyclones lost against the Golden Demons back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result  on Friday. Pueblo West was the victim of a  tough 76-50 loss at the hands of Golden. While losing is never fun, Pueblo West can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings  (they are ranked 142nd, while Golden is ranked tenth).
 Despite the loss, Pueblo West still got an impressive performance from   Logan Montgomery, who  scored 20 points along with eight  rebounds and three  steals. Those 20 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of  Andrew Trujillo, who  scored eight points along with seven  rebounds.
 Leading Golden to victory were  Shad  Garnett and  Slade Pike.  Garnett  dropped  a double-double on 11 points and ten  rebounds, while  Pike  scored 16 points along with seven  steals. That's the first time this season that  Garnett  pulled down eight or more   rebounds. Another player making a difference was  Alex Erger, who  scored ten points.
 Pueblo West now  has a losing record at 3-4. As for Golden, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1.
 Pueblo West's road trip will continue as they head out to face Mitchell at 4:30  p.m.  on December 16th. Mitchell comes in still looking for their first win of the season. Golden won't have much time to rest: their next  matchup is against Pueblo County at 10:00  a.m.  on December 16th. Pueblo County is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
