Nanih Waiya is 9-1 against the Tigers since December of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Nanih Waiya Warriors will be playing in front of their home fans against the Noxapater Tigers at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Nanih Waiya has nine straight wins, the Tigers have five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Tuesday, Nanih Waiya strolled past the Tigers with points to spare, taking the game 54-40. Given Nanih Waiya's advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 91st, while the Tigers are ranked 250th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Nanih Waiya got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kylianna Spivey out in front who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Spivey has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Nyshea Hoskin, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Noxapater came up short against the Falcons on Tuesday and fell 39-31.
Nanih Waiya's win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-2. As for Noxapater, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.
Nanih Waiya strolled past the Tigers in their previous matchup on Thursday by a score of 50-33. Will Nanih Waiya repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
