Basketball Recap: Make It 13 in a Row for Marian

Marian entered their tilt with Prep Student Academic Training Academy National on Friday with 12 consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 13. They strolled past the Prep Student Academic Training Academy National Panthers with points to spare, taking the game 76-62. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 67-57 back in November.

Marian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ehud Tesfaye, who posted 13 points and five assists. Jaden Weatherspoon was another key player, putting up 16 points.

Tesfaye wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Marian was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now racked up at least 20 assists in three consecutive games.

Marian's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.6 points per game. As for Prep Student Academic Training Academy National, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.

Marian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 63-39 win against Lutheran South Academy on the 27th. As for Prep Student Academic Training Academy National, they will head out to square off against iSchool of Lewisville at 4:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
