Basketball Recap: Lakeside Skates Past Stockton with Ease

A well-balanced attack led Lakeside over Stockton in every quarter on their way to victory on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Lakeside Knights blew the Stockton Tigers out of the water with a 53-23 final score. The Knights pushed the score to 42-16 by the end of the third, a deficit the Tigers had little chance of recovering from.

Lakeside was led to victory by Reece Remus and Jace Cunningham. Remus dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds, while Cunningham went 8 of 13 on his way to 19 points. Remus has been hot recently, having posted nine or more boards the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaden McCoy, who posted four points and three steals.

The victory made it two in a row for Lakeside and bumps their season record up to 2-0. As for Stockton, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Rock Hills the next time they take the court. Lakeside will head out to face Rock Hills at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while Stockton will host them at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
