Basketball Game Preview: Westerly Bulldogs vs. West Warwick Wizards

Westerly and West Warwick are an even 3-3 against one another since January of 2017, but not for long. The Westerly Bulldogs will be playing at home against the West Warwick Wizards at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Westerly has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.

Westerly is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Cranston West, posting a 70-25 victory. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 20 points or more this season.

Ella Reyes and Kate Rafferty were among the main playmakers for Westerly as the former posted ten points in addition to seven steals and six boards and the latter had five points along with seven assists and six rebounds. Reyes is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Nova Woodward, who scored nine points.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Westerly was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cranston West only posted five assists.

Meanwhile, West Warwick faced Tiverton in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. West Warwick fell to Tiverton 40-34.

Westerly is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 29.2 points. As for West Warwick, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-6-1.
