The Ocean View Christian Patriots fought the good fight in their overtime contest against the Mountain Empire Redhawks on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Redhawks 64-60. Ocean View Christian's defeat continues an unfortunate trend for the team, making it four in a row.
Andrew Sepulveda was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 28 points and 20 rebounds for Mountain Empire. Sepulveda continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Jacob Shawcroft was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Ocean View Christian has not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season. As for Mountain Empire, they pushed their record up to 13-6 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home.
Ocean View Christian will head out on the road to square off against the Raptor at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. High Tech NC will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Mountain Empire, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Royals at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th.
