Heritage Hall extended the longest winning streak in 3A District 3 this week by beating Bethel, 48-0. The win marks fifth in a row for the the Chargers.
Heritage Hall made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 3,146 from 3,430. The improvement was the result of 48-0 victory over the Wildcats last week.
Kingfisher's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Grant Newton threw for 143 and three touchdowns and Jake Blair had 73 yards receiving. On the ground Landon Nault chipped in 171 yards. Keaton Ely helped Kingfisher's passing attack out by catching five balls for 63 yards.
Nick Smith made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Yellowjackets defeated Newcastle. The 5-foot-7 freshman forced one fumble and recorded two fumbles.
Andy Bogert's team's Conner McGinnis and Chedon Shockley have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. McGinnis has thrown for 1211 yards this season, while Shockley, a 5-foot-9 receiver, has 48 catches for 694 yards. Kingfisher's Nault leads the league in rushing yards with 1236.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Chargers take on Star-Spencer. Heritage Hall is in second place, while the Bobcats are in third place.
