River Valley had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. They snuck past the Symmes Valley Vikings with a 55-49 win. Given the Raiders' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 265th, while the Vikings are ranked 650th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

River Valley has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. As for Symmes Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. River Valley will square off against Southern at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Southern will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something River Valley surely won't give up without a fight. As for Symmes Valley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Ravenswood at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
