The Life Christian Academy Eagles are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season: they will challenge the Blue Ridge Barons at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Life Christian Academy has four straight wins, Blue Ridge has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Life Christian Academy had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Hargrave Military Academy on Monday. Life Christian Academy was the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over Hargrave Military Academy. While the Eagles didn't have the best season last year (they finished 7-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
Brandon Dorin made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Dorin was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. That run was his first of the season.
In other batting news, Connor Radcliff was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-2. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Aden Reynolds, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
Life Christian Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive matchups dating back to last season.
Meanwhile, the Barons had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They lost 13-3 to the Jays on Thursday.
The Barons saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jimmy Cluff, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
Life Christian Academy pushed their record up to 4-0 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for the Barons, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Life Christian Academy took their win against Blue Ridge in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 27-5. Does Life Christian Academy have another victory up their sleeve, or will Blue Ridge turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
