Softball Recap: Unaka Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Unaka hadn't done well against Cloudland recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Rangers narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Highlanders 7-6. The game was the first time the Rangers have beaten the Highlanders on their field since April 18, 2023.

Unaka let Brooklyn Campbell and Mollie Buckles run wild. Campbell went 2-for-3 with three runs, while Buckles went 2-for-4 with three RBI. Those three runs gave Campbell a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Katlyn Dugger, who went 1-for-4 with three runs.

Unaka's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-13. As for Cloudland, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-15.

Unaka wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 14-3 defeat against North Greene on the 7th. Cloudland does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
