Triangle Lake and the Wolverines are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2016, but not for long. The Triangle Lake Lakers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Alsea Wolverines at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Triangle Lake scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 74-47 win over McKenzie. Triangle Lake has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 24 points or more this season.
Alsea fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They slipped by Eddyville 36-35 on Saturday.
Triangle Lake pushed their record up to 7-5 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.7 points per game. As for Alsea, their victory ended a 12-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-18.
Triangle Lake might still be hurting after the 64-44 defeat they got from the Wolverines in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Can Triangle Lake avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
