The Franklin Sabers had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They slipped by Oak Creek 40-39. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Franklin also won the last time the pair played back in March.
Franklin got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Aniya Boyland out in front who scored 20 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Those 20 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Rachael Jepsen, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Franklin has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. As for Oak Creek, their loss ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Franklin will be home for the holidays to greet Grafton at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Grafton's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three games. Oak Creek will be home for the holidays to greet New Berlin Eisenhower at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Wisconsin (New Berlin Eisenhower is ranked 83rd, while Oak Creek is ranked 74th).
