The Revere Patriots will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against the Lynn Classical Rams at 3:00 p.m. on October 21st. Revere will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Massachusetts Rankings (they are ranked 219th, while Lynn Classical is ranked 75th).
After low-scoring totals in their previous five contests, Revere brought some dynamite into their most recent game. They breezed by Somerville on the road to the tune of 36-0.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Lynn Classical's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 48-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of Salem. Despite running the score up even higher than they did two weeks ago (34), Lynn Classical still had to take the loss.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Brian Vaughan, who threw for 411 yards and five touchdowns while completing 80.8% of his passes. Vaughan is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was RJ Faessler, who picked up 227 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Revere's victory lifted them to 1-5 while Lynn Classical's loss dropped them down to 4-2.
Revere came up short against Lynn Classical in their previous meeting back in October of 2022, falling 20-14. Can Revere avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
