On Saturday, Wildwood greeted the New Year with with a 53-37 win over Hightstown.
Wildwood got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Junior Hans out in front who scored 19 points along with four steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Hans has scored at least 25% of Wildwood's points. Another player making a difference was Ryan Troiano, who scored no points along with ten assists and seven rebounds.
Wildwood is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season. As for Hightstown, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-6.
Wildwood will head out on the road to face off against Salem at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Salem knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four games -- so hopefully Wildwood likes a good challenge. As for Hightstown, they will be playing at home against Trenton Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Trenton Central will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps New Jersey Rankings (they are ranked 334th, while Hightstown is ranked 165th).
