Basketball Recap: Moon Valley's Luck Changes for the Better on Wednesday

Moon Valley's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They snuck past the Desert Sunrise Golden Hawks with a 54-50 victory. The win was some much needed relief for the Rockets as it spelled an end to their ten-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Moon Valley's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jordan Sepulveda, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. The dominant performance gave Sepulveda a new career-high in points. Maurice Brown was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 14 points and nine boards.

Moon Valley was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Moon Valley's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-9. As for Desert Sunrise, they dropped their record down to 1-8 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.

Moon Valley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 54-52 loss against Fairfax on the 23rd. After both having extra time off, Desert Sunrise and Yuma will shake off the cobwebs and face off against one another at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Yuma is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.2 points per game this season.
