Baseball Recap: Shoreland Lutheran Comes Up Short

If Shoreland Lutheran was riding high fresh off their 15-2 takedown of Racine Lutheran/Prairie on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Pacers lost 11-5 to the Mayville Cardinals on Monday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Pacers of the 7-6 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

James Craig was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs. He has become a key player for Shoreland Lutheran: the team is 6-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 4-8-1 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Schneider, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Shoreland Lutheran's defeat dropped their record down to 10-9-1. As for Mayville, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 16-4.

Coming up, Shoreland Lutheran will take on St. Joseph at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lancers will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Pacers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Mayville, they will be playing at home against Omro at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games the Foxes have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
