The Stuart Broncos couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They were the victim of a tough 51-30 loss at the hands of Niobrara/Verdigre on Thursday. Stuart has not had much luck with Niobrara/Verdigre recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Josilyn Miller went supernova for Niobrara/Verdigre, dropping a double-double on 24 points and 14 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylen Stark, who scored 10 points along with 8 steals.
Stuart's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Niobrara/Verdigre, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Stuart won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Central Valley at 6:00 p.m. on December 1st. Hopefully Central Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Thursday. As for Niobrara/Verdigre, they will be playing at home against Elgin/Pope John at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
