The Evansville Reitz Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the North Posey Vikings at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Evansville Reitz will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line.
Evansville Reitz has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 44 points or more this season. They blew past Evansville Harrison 74-30 at home. Given Evansville Reitz's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 60th, while Evansville Harrison is ranked 312th), the result on Wednesday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Evansville Reitz's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Norah Miller led the charge by dropping a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. The game was Miller's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Kaelyse Mitchell, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 10 rebounds.
Meanwhile, North Posey was the victim of a rough 57-33 loss at the hands of Washington on Thursday. North Posey has struggled against Washington recently, as their matchup on Thursday was their ninth consecutive lost matchup.
Evansville Reitz's victory lifted them to 7-0 while Evansville Harrison's defeat dropped them down to 2-8.
Evansville Reitz beat North Posey 53-40 in their previous matchup back in December of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for Evansville Reitz since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
