On Saturday, Perry Central came up short against the Rebels and fell 68-61. Perry Central has struggled against the Rebels recently, as their match on Saturday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Crawford County came tearing into Thursday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past West Washington 55-53.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Crawford County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Laken Belcher, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. Belcher continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Blake Seibert was another key contributor, scoring 19 points.
Perry Central dropped their record down to 4-13 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Crawford County, their victory bumped their record up to 5-13.
Perry Central skirted past the Wolfpack 65-63 in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Crawford County's Isaac Nickelson, who scored 21 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. Now that he won't be playing on Tuesday, will it be that much easier for Perry Central to walk away with another win? There's only one way to find out.
