Northeast's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Jatavion Zellner, who scored 20 points along with two steals, and Amani Brown who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Zion Paul was another key contributor, scoring five points along with six rebounds.
Westside's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Joshua Harden, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Christian Little, who scored 14 points.
Northeast has not been sharp recently, as they've lost nine of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-15 record this season. As for Westside, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northeast and Rutland will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 19th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Rutland is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games. As for Westside, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Perry at 7:30 p.m. Perry will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 365th, while Westside is ranked 166th).
