There's no place like home for the Paxton Tigers, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. They walked away with a 44-33 victory over Sutherland on Thursday. That's another feather in the cap for Paxton, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Josh Eakins was his usual excellent self, scoring 23 points along with seven steals and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Maddex McConnell, who scored 11 points along with four blocks.
Paxton pushed their record up to 13-8 with that victory, which was their ninth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.1 points per game. As for Sutherland, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-16.
Paxton will head out on the road to face off against St. Patrick's at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. St. Patrick's will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Paxton surely won't give up without a fight. As for Sutherland, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Chase County at 5:00 p.m.
