The Eisenhower Eagles's game last Saturday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They managed a 43-37 win over Aldine. For Eisenhower, this counts as revenge for the 53-50 loss Aldine walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.
Genesis Watson was the offensive standout of the contest as she scored 15 points along with four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Keiora Gaines, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds.
Porsha Daniels and Melanie Umanzor certainly did their best on Wednesday to try and avoid the loss. Daniels dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds, while Umanzor scored nine points along with 11 blocks. Umanzor hasn't dropped below two blocks for 13 straight games.
Eisenhower's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-18. As for Aldine, they bumped their record down to 3-22 with that loss, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Eisenhower will challenge Nimitz at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Nimitz has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Aldine, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Westfield at 12:00 p.m. Westfield presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Aldine in Texas (Westfield is ranked 641st, while Aldine is ranked 1308th).
