It's playoff time, and Mid-Carolina had no trouble coming through when it counted. Their defense stepped up to hand the Chester Cyclones a 7-0 shutout on Tuesday. Considering Mid-Carolina have won 14 games by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit Chester with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Madilyn Horning (4), Jennifer Boland (2), and Marley Long.

The win (which was Mid-Carolina's seventh in a row) raised their record to 16-4. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those seven matches. As for Chester, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-8.

As of now, neither Mid-Carolina nor the Cyclones have any future games scheduled.
