The Clinton Yellowjackets lost against the Lamar Warriors back in October of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Clinton took a 27-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lamar.
Caleb Green was his usual excellent self, rushing for 124 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.8 yards per carry, and also throwing for 77 yards and a touchdown. Green was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 62 yards.
Clinton's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Lamar, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clinton will take on Dover at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Dover comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 12 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Lamar, they have the luxury of staying home another week and will welcome Central Arkansas Christian at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. One thing working in Central Arkansas Christian's favor is that they have now posted big point totals every time they've taken the field this season.
