The Independence Eagles waltzed into their game on Friday with two straight wins but they left with three. They blew past Summit 59-37. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Independence also won the last time the pair played last Wednesday.
Independence's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Aaliyah Fleming led the charge by dropping a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. Fleming is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight. Savanna Seay was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds and six assists.
Independence has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-13 record this season. As for Summit, their loss was their tenth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 9-15.
Independence will challenge Nolensville at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Summit, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Brentwood at 6:00 p.m. Brentwoodpresents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Summit in Tennessee (Brentwood is ranked 22nd, while Summit is ranked 211th).
