The Lower Richland Diamond Hornets were the 63-31 winner over the Ridge View Blazers when they last played one another back in December of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. Lower Richland fell 50-43 to Ridge View on Saturday. Lower Richland has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Lower Richland's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Pa'nanjala Curry, who scored 7 points along with 9 rebounds. Taelor Hiller-Johnson was another key contributor, scoring 9 points along with 6 rebounds.
Lower Richland struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Ridge View racked up 11.
Ridge View's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Janiya Carter, who scored 8 points along with 4 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Anasia Harvey, who scored 11 points along with 7 rebounds.
Lower Richland's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Ridge View, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lower Richland will take on Keenan at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Carolina (Keenan is ranked 70th, while Lower Richland is ranked 87th).
