Kimberly took a ten-run loss the last time they faced off against Fond du Lac, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Papermakers had just enough and edged out the Cardinals 8-6. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Papermakers have posted since May 9, 2024.

The team relied heavily on Benny Kieffer, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season. Sawyer Deering was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Kimberly was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .394. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Kimberly has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Fond du Lac, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
