St. Joseph extended their winning streak to seven on Friday, bumping them up to 7-1. They breezed past the Paso Robles Bearcats to the tune of 55-6. Considering the Knights have won seven contests by more than 24 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Grayson Gaines had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 209 yards and four TDs while picking up 10.5 yards per carry, and also picking up 53 receiving yards. Those 209 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jack Heaslet, who threw for 226 yards and one touchdown on only 18 passes.
As for Paso Robles, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-6. While losing is never fun, they can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 368th, while St. Joseph is ranked 78th).
Despite the loss, Paso Robles still got an impressive performance from Yannie Gelos, who rushed for 114 yards and one score on only 12 carries.
