The Western Plains Bobcats will be playing in front of their home fans against Logan/Palco at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are out to turn their luck around after having lost tight contests in their previous games.
Western Plains' recent rough patch got a bit rougher last Friday after their sixth straight loss. They fell just short of Heartland Christian by a score of 43-40.
Despite the defeat, Western Plains saw an underclassman step up: Madelyn Kraus dropped a double-double on 25 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Kraus has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jaelyn Spangler, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought match, but Logan/Palco had to settle for a 39-37 defeat against Golden Plains on Friday. Logan/Palco has struggled against Golden Plains recently, as their matchup on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Ansley Delimont, who scored 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cydnee Ryder, who scored 12 points.
Western Plains' defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 1-6. As for Logan/Palco, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.
Tuesday's game is shaping up to be a scrappy matchup: Western Plains have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 27 rebounds per game. It's a different story for Logan/Palco, though, as they've been averaging only 33.8 rebounds per game.
