Williamstown is 8-0 against Oxbow since January of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Saturday. Richford typically has all the answers at home, but on Wednesday Williamstown proved too difficult a challenge. They escaped with a win against the Falcons by the margin of a single free throw, 57-56.
Evan Bailey was his usual excellent self, scoring 23 points along with six rebounds and five assists. That makes it six consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Williamstown's points. Nick Mascitti was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Oxbow came into Wednesday's game having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They were the clear victor by a 61-35 margin over Northfield.
Williamstown's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-6. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.7 points per game. As for Oxbow, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-11.
Everything came up roses for Williamstown against Oxbow when the teams last played back in February of 2021 as the squad secured a 69-37 victory. Will Williamstown repeat their success, or does Oxbow have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
