Baseball Recap: Fairview Now 8-1 over Last Nine Games

Fairview got themselves on the board against Hicksville on Friday, but Hicksville never followed suit. They blew past the Aces 8-0. The result was nothing new for the Apaches, who have now won ten matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Cole Mack made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run over 6.1 innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Fairview let Zane Timbrook and Shady Fritch run wild. Timbrook went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI, while Fritch went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. Another player making a difference was Anthony Singer, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Fairview is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Hicksville, they now have a losing record of 6-7.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Fairview is set to take on their familiar foe Tinora at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Apaches 2.9, the Rams 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Hicksville will square off against rival Edgerton at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
