3A Conference 10 recap November 13, 2013
Northern Guilford extended the longest winning streak in 3A Conference 10 this week by beating Morehead, 49-6. The victory was the eighth in a row for the team.
Northern Guilford took down the Panthers 49-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Rockingham County's dynamic duo of Daniel Cardwell and Jordan Davis proved to be unstoppable against Eastern Guilford, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Cardwell threw for 152 yards and 1 touchdown and Davis had 71 yards receiving. Brock Fox helped Rockingham County's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 30 yards.
5-foot-11 quarterback Austin Coltrane of Robert Brian Thomas' team is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1,343. He has also thrown 21 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Malik Wilson. The Eastern Alamance star has 31 catches for 627 yards.
Malcom Summers of the Eastern Alamance is just 35 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 152 carries Summers has accumulated 965 yard this year.
As it stands, the Nighthawks are in second, while the Wildcats are in fifth.
McMichael made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 10,511 from 10,681. The improvement was the result of a 31-0 victory over the Phoenix last week.
