The Poudre Impalas's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their seventh straight loss. They fell 53-42 to Brighton. Poudre was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Brighton apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Luke Foster and Pierce Decker certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Foster dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds, while Decker dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. Foster hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games.
Poudre dropped their record down to 3-13 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Brighton, their win ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-10.
Poudre will take on Boulder at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Boulder focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Tuesday. As for Brighton, they will head out on the road to take on Legacy at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Legacy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Brighton in Colorado (Legacy is ranked 57th, while Brighton is ranked 229th).
