Joliet Central had lost six straight on the road, but  on Saturday they dropped their record down to 2-15 to make it seven. They lost  16-9 to the Bremen Braves. If the Steelmen were looking for revenge after losing  12-0 to the Braves when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

  Haydn Voss made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and  went 3-for-4 with four  runs, one  stolen base,  and one  double. She has been hot, having  posted  at least one  stolen base the last six times she's  played. The team also got some help courtesy of  Trinity Godinez, who  went 1-for-2 with one  run, one  double,  and one  RBI.
As for Bremen, they moved to 6-11 with that  victory, which also ended their six-game losing streak. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for they considering their two-run performance the  contest before.
On Bremen's side,  Kaycee McManus was a  major factor no matter where she played. She  struck out nine batters over  4.1 innings while giving up just one earned  (and two unearned) runs off   three  hits (and not a single walk). That's the most  strikeouts  McManus has posted since back in April of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box,  going 1-for-3 with three  stolen bases, three  runs,  and two  RBI.
 In other batting news,  Avianna Lopez was a standout: she got on base  in two of her three plate appearances with two  stolen bases, three  runs,  and two  RBI. Those  three  runs gave  her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Nataly Castaneda, who  went 3-for-4 with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and two  RBI.
 Coming up, Joliet Central will face off against Oswego at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their  18th straight  win, something the Steelmen surely won't give up without a fight. As for Bremen, they have the luxury  of staying home for another  game and will welcome Hillcrest at 4:30  p.m.  on Monday.
