Worth County has been on the road for two straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. The Worth County Rams and the Schley County Wildcats will face off at 6:00 p.m. on December 29th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 61-21, which was the final score in Worth County's tilt against Southwest Georgia Academy on Tuesday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Worth County has scored all season.
Worth County's defeat came about despite a quality game from Kenslie Puckett, who scored two points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Those seven rebounds set a new season-high mark for her.
Meanwhile, Schley County came up short against Thomas County Central on Tuesday and fell 45-34. While losing is never fun, Schley County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 259th, while Thomas County Central is ranked 30th).
Worth County now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Schley County, their loss dropped their record down to 6-3.
Worth County was able to grind out a solid win over Schley County when the teams last played back in November, winning 38-25. Does Worth County have another victory up their sleeve, or will Schley County turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
