Harbor hasn't had much luck against Aptos recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Pirates will host the Mariners at 4:30 p.m. Harbor has given up an average of 11.9 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Harbor is headed into Thursday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their seventh straight game on Tuesday. They came up short against San Lorenzo Valley, falling 13-1.

Hana Pomrantz spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and 11 unearned) runs on ten hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.
At the plate, Sofia Monroe made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run. Juliet Ray also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, Aptos had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 17-3 margin over the Knights. The result was nothing new for the Mariners, who have now won seven matches by six runs or more so far this season.
Mya Najera-White tossed a big game, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off six hits.
On the hitting side, Aptos let Kailani Aguayo and Gwen Vaca run wild. Aguayo went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Vaca went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most hits Aguayo has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Lilly Mcgee, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Aptos always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Aptos pushed their record up to 9-5 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.4 runs over those games. As for Harbor, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-9.
Harbor suffered a grim 12-1 defeat to Aptos in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Pirates avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
