The Franklin Cougars entered their tilt with the Eastlake Falcons with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Franklin came out on top against Eastlake by a score of 45-35 on Friday. Given Franklin's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 140th, while Eastlake is ranked 812th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Caitlynn Clark was her usual excellent self, scoring 20 points along with seven steals. She is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight. Armane Davis was another key contributor, scoring six points along with nine rebounds and two steals.
Franklin pushed their record up to 21-5 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Eastlake, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-18 record this season.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Pebble Hills the next time they take the court. Franklin will head out to face Pebble Hills at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while Eastlake will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
