Superior and Ray are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2018, but not for long. Having just played yesterday, the Superior Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the Ray Bearcats at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th. Superior is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
On Thursday, things could have been worse for Superior, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 62-46 loss to Joseph City. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Superior in their matchups with Joseph City: they've now lost five in a row.
Ray suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Tuesday. They were dealt a 68-20 loss at the hands of The Gregory School. Ray was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-9.
Superior has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season. As for Ray, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-7.
Superior skirted past Ray 52-50 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Superior since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
