The Marion Eagles will face off against the Sacred Heart Academy Irish at TBD on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Marion put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past All Saints Central 64-14 at home. The high flying offensive effort was a huge turnaround for Marion's two-point performance the contest before.
Marion got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Cole Meyer out in front who rushed for 124 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries, and also picked up 60 receiving yards. Meyer's longest rush was for an incredible 70 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Prielipp , who gained 130 total yards and three touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Sacred Heart Academy got themselves on the board against Au Gres-Sims on Saturday, but Au Gres-Sims never followed suit. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Wolverines 34-0 on the road. The win was nothing new for Sacred Heart Academy as they're now sitting on three straight.
Marion's victory was their ninth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 9-0. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 51.22 points. As for Sacred Heart Academy, their win bumped their record up to 10-1.
