The New Prairie Cougars were the 54-51 winner over the Jimtown Jimmies when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. New Prairie was dealt a 64-35 loss at the hands of Jimtown on Friday.
New Prairie lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jaydon Clemons, who scored ten points. Devan Kalicki was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Jimtown to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brandon King, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds. Those 16 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Fey, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds.
New Prairie's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Jimtown, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 1-5.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. New Prairie will square off against Mishawaka at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mishawaka presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than New Prairie in Indiana (Mishawaka is ranked 40th, while New Prairie is ranked 324th). Jimtown won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Fairfield at 7:30 p.m. on December 16th.
