The Prairie Pirates will square off against the Kendrick Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
Prairie took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 20-5 margin over Lapwai. The victory continues a trend for the Pirates in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won eight in a row.
Jake Quintal made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four). He was even better at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-2. He also put up a home run, which was his first of the season.

Prairie always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Kendrick put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on Clearwater Valley with a sharp 12-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won six matchups by nine runs or more so far this season.
The team relied heavily on Morgan Boyer, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Jerry Anderson, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
Kendrick's victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-0. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Prairie, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 2-3.
Thursday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Prairie hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .373. However, it's not like Kendrick struggles in that department as they've averaged .378. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Prairie couldn't quite finish off Kendrick in their previous meeting last Tuesday and fell 9-7. Will the Pirates have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
