Sam Laney posted a new career-high in strikeouts on Thursday. As a matter of fact, he turned in his biggest game of the season, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.
