The Rochester Rockets posted their closest win since January 12th on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Springfield 53-50. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Rochester also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Rochester's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Eli Cox, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kai Bruce, who scored 13 points.
The win made it two in a row for Rochester and bumps their season record up to 13-16. As for Springfield, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost 12 of their last 15 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-19 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rochester's road trip will continue as they head out to face Sacred Heart-Griffin at 7:00 p.m. on February 13th. As for Springfield, they will take on Cahokia at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Springfield is facing Cahokia at the right time seeing as Cahokia is stuck on a 11-game losing streak.
