Legacy's Jarod Bleazard rumbled for the longest rushing play in Expo this season in his game against Marquez last week. Bleazard scampered for 60 yards on the play and finished with 127 on the day as his team bested the Gladiators.
Marquez lost to Legacy 23-6 last week, the largest margin of any game.
JAIR SANCHEZ's team's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Francisco Cornejo threw for 110 and 1 touchdown and Robert Ramirez had 62 yards receiving. On the ground Bleazard contributed 127 yards. Daniel Larios helped Legacy's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 30 yards.
The Tigers' dynamic duo of Cornejo and Ramirez proved tough for Leroy Wilson's team to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Larios helped Legacy's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 30 yards.
Greg Johnson was a passing and rushing force as Hawkins fell to Flintridge Prep. He completed 5 passes for 73 yards and 1 touchdown and also ran for 105 yards. Johnson's favorite target this week was Gilberto Placido, who caught 3 passes for 56 yards.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Hawkins' Christian Fernandez and Placido have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-1 quarterback Fernandez has thrown for 500 yards this season, while Placido has 19 catches for 460 yards. Pedro Molina from the Gladiators leads the league in rushing with 534 yards.
One of the league's premier quarterbacks will face off with its top pass rusher when Hawkins and Legacy face off next week.
At the moment, the Tigers are in first, while Hawkins is in third.
Legacy made the biggest leap in the national rankings this week, rising to 14,506 from 14,574. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 23-6 victory over Marquez last week.
