Softball Recap: Rehoboth Christian's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Rehoboth Christian had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Newcomb Skyhawks an 11-0 shutout. The Lynx might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by six runs or more this season.

Sage West made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run.

In other batting news, Faith Vicente was a standout: she scored three runs and stole four bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024. Leigh House was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 3-for-4.

Rehoboth Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .310 or higher in ten consecutive matches.

Rehoboth Christian pushed their record up to 7-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.3 runs over those games. As for Newcomb, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.

Looking ahead, Rehoboth Christian will head out to take on Grants at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Newcomb, they will be playing at home against Santa Fe Indian at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
