The Mountain Ridge Sentinels's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight loss. They fell to Herriman 57-51. While losing is never fun, Mountain Ridge can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 66th, while Herriman is ranked tenth).
When it comes to explaining why Mountain Ridge lost, one person who can't be blamed is Spencer Krainich. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds. Krainich hasn't dropped below two blocks for six straight games. Another player making a difference was Jake Allen, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Mountain Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Herriman, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season.
Mountain Ridge will be playing at home against Copper Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Herriman, they will head out on the road to challenge Corner Canyon at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Corner Canyon focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up six on Friday.
