Prestonwood Christian North have been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a hard 60-43 fall against First Baptist on Friday.
Emily Kate Jones continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for First Baptist, dropping a double-double on 29 points and 26 rebounds. The matchup was Jones' 17th in a row with at least ten points. Allison Munnerlyn was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Prestonwood Christian North's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-8. As for First Baptist, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 14-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Prestonwood Christian North will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Providence Academy at 5:30 p.m. on January 12, 2024. First Baptist and Longview Christian will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 9, 2024 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Longview Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 1008th, while First Baptist is ranked 446th).
